The case for backing female founders: perspectives from Pink Salt Ventures
Diversity is here to stay and at Pink Salt Ventures they are living up to that pledge. Ahead of SuperVenture in June, Saloni Bhojwani, Co-Founder and Partner at Pink Salt Ventures discuss the fact that until recently, there had been no VC funds in the UK solely dedicated to female-led companies.
Investing in female-led technology companies, to us, means investing in the companies capturing the largest audiences (and driving the largest market share), solving the big problems that need to be solved, and generating outsized returns.
She highlights the well-documented gender gap and notes the importance on investing in female led ventures, especially in FinTech and health as the gender gap is particularly wide here. Studies show, that women are 32% more likely to die from an operation conducted by a male rather than a female surgeon. Read for yourself to discover, why VC funds like Pink Salt Ventures resonated with so many SuperReturn readers.
