Chris Fonteijn was chairman of the board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) from its inception in 2013 to 2018. Prior to this, Chris was chairman of both the former Netherlands Competition Authority, since July 2011, and the former Independent Post and Telecommunications Authority of the Netherlands since 2005. He played an important role in the establishment of ACM. Chris became vice-chair of the International Competition Network in 2017. He was chair of BEREC in 2011. Prior to this, he worked for the Law Firm NautaDutilh in the Middle East, as well as being its director of the energy and utilities group. Chris builds on his wide experience in the private and public sector, allowing him to advise strategically on dealing with governments, and independent government agencies.
