Peter Freeman CBE QC (Hon) is Chairman at the Competition Appeal Tribunal. He is a lawyer who has held senior posts in UK competition enforcement. From 2006 to 2011, he was Chairman of the Competition Commission, having been a Deputy Chairman from 2003. He is a member of the Lloyds Enforcement Appeal Tribunal and a board member of the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO). Peter Freeman was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1972 and admitted as a solicitor in 1977. He was a partner at Simmons & Simmons from 1978-2003 and a senior consultant to Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton from 2011-2013. He was a founding member and chairman of the Regulatory Policy Institute, Oxford, and has written and spoken widely on competition and regulatory law matters.
