Alexander Mutua Makaa, a graduate of Nairobi University (Bachelor of Arts Upper Second Class (Hons.) in Economics & Sociology, he took different roles in Human Resource and Sales Departments within the years. He was privileged to have been part of the Heavy Commercial team of CMC Motors between 2006 – 2008 to have sold Nissan UD prime movers, rigid trucks and buses within East Africa. In 2009, he led the sales for motor and non-motor business across various branches in Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda as a Sales Manager of Engineering Division.

He assumed additional responsibility as Divisional Manager for Engineering Division in 2012 pre and post-acquisition by Al-Futtaim Automotive Group. In this position, Alex is responsible for growth of sales & market share of both Bobcat Machines & Trailer Business within existing and new frontiers across CMC Motors portfolio and was fully responsible for the Division’s business operations.

He is extremely adaptable having spent the previous 6 years working for Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers in the sales operation managing stocks, fabrication, and the sale of point of sales materials for corporate key accounts.

In August 2016, Alex took over a new responsibility of Divisional Manager, New Holland Division. He has grown the market share of the brand in Kenya. In his current position, he has achieved a major milestone in CMC’s sales history jointly with his national sales team on the retails of New Holland Agriculture tractors in Kenya within the last 5 years.

He has extensive commercial trucks, earth moving machine and agricultural tractor retail business experience spanning 12 years.
