Gloria Ekpo is a Programme management & training specialist with over 20 years experience in the field of agricultural extension, agricultural policy development and analysis; value chain development in agricultural rural economy, gender and livelihood development across communities in West and East Africa. These experiences include value chain analysis, mapping, linking agribusiness firms with smallholder operators in agricultural value chains, working with local communities with proven strategic, management and technical experiences in multi-year Agricultural, Environmental and Business development projects targeting varying socio-economic dimensions towards the Promotion of Women Entrepreneurship (WEP) and gender mainstreaming in agricultural extension.
She has a proven ability to develop and manage partnerships/networking platforms which include building advocacy capacity to influence high-level policy engagements. She has vast experience in consulting and implementing agricultural rural advisory and extension services in postharvest management projects as well as in gender transformation processes for international and local NGOs in West Africa. She is currently the facilitator of the Agriculture & Food Security Policy Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). In addition, she is also an independent consultant in the agricultural and rural development sector.
