Innovative, passionate, witty development expert and a polyglot best describe Lilian A. Onyegbulam. She is an Agricultural Economist who invests her time in university teaching, research and growing the Entrepreneurship Quotient of young Nigerians. She has executed some of the most important African agricultural and rural pilots, working with African Agricultural Technologies Foundation, International Institute for Tropical Agriculture, United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (UN FAO), Palladium Group, Abt Associates, and World Bank DIME projects in Northern States, Nigeria implemented by Initiatives for Breaking Barriers in the Development of Women and Youths (BBID). Lilian has worked on a numbers of multimillion-dollar food safety and security projects funded by a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, DFID, Fords Foundation EU, BMZ and World Bank-NIPEP in West and East Africa including Pod-borer resistant cowpea, NEWEST Rice Project, NEXTGEN Cassava, HarvestPlus and BASICS Cassava Project. Educated in Italy and fluent in English and Italian Miss. Onyegbulam belongs to an impeccable network of community-based organizations, agricultural cooperatives, research institutions and the academia, doing astute development work across the continent.
