Michelle Goodsir
Managing Director at K2 intelligence

Michelle Goodsir, a managing director at K2 Intelligence, has 25 years of financial crime compliance experience which includes fraud risk management, anti-bribery and corruption, corporate security and investigations, sanctions, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program experience working within the financial services industry and the U.S. government. She is a strong compliance professional with focus on program build, operations, analytics, and business intelligence.
Michelle joined K2 Intelligence in February 2019 and focuses on providing clients strategic advice on fraud risk management to international financial institutions. This includes how to structure a second line of defense fraud program, defining fraud risk taxonomy and risk appetite, enhancing risk assessment and control capabilities, and developing strong stakeholder engagement models across an organization. She also leverages her expertise in AML and sanctions to lead large projects involving global banks facing regulatory scrutiny or penalty. These projects involve historical transaction reviews and sanctions program and control framework assessment and payments screening.

Before joining K2 Intelligence, Michelle served as managing director and global head of anti-bribery and corruption and fraud for a European bank, where she was responsible for enterprise-wide anti-bribery and corruption, fraud risk management and investigations, and whistleblowing programs. Her role required setting global policy and control standards, as well as updating U.S. and European regulators, auditors, and monitors on program strategy and progression. She also served as head of financial crime compliance for CIT Group, where she served as the board-approved BSA/AML officer for the firm; was responsible for enterprise AML, sanctions, and fraud risk management programs, policies, corporate standards, and risk assessments; and managed the institution's exams by U.S. regulators.
Michelle has also held several lead positions in financial crime-related programs at Citi.

While there, Michelle served as managing director, head of AML cross-sector operations, where she built an operations program to monitor high-risk customers across business and geographic platforms and managed programs involving AML and sanctions alert reviews. Also at Citi, she served as regional executive director EMEA, based in London, where she was responsible for managing physical security and investigative programs in more than 50 countries, and as director, global intelligence and analysis, within Citi Security and Investigative Services, an intelligence and analytical program she founded within the financial institution.
Michelle began her career as an analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where she worked with field officers to source industry and law enforcement contacts on illicit finance and global money laundering issues and produced analytical reports and presentations on issues of national interest involving bribery, organized crime, and illicit finance.
Michelle received her M.B.A. in international business from The George Washington University School of Business and her B.S. in international trade and finance, summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University.
