Albert Bondt, PhDSenior Scientist at Utrecht University
Profile
Albert Bondt did his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies at Utrecht University, focusing on cell biology, genetics, and immunity. After completion of his Master’s degree he did his PhD on the mass spectrometric analysis of antibody glycosylation in pregnancy and autoimmunity at the Erasmus and Leiden University Medical Centers. He continued in this line of work for a few years as a postdoc at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at Leiden UMC. In 2018 Albert Bondt moved to the Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics group of Professor Albert Heck, where he continued to use mass spectrometry for the analysis of antibodies. However, instead of mainly analyzing the constant domain, Albert Heck and Albert Bondt, together with the members of their Ig sequencing taskforce, started to develop methods to profile and sequence antibodies from human biofluids.
