Prof. Casewell is Chair in Tropical Disease Biology and Director of the Centre for Snakebite Research & Interventions at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK. He has over 15 years of experience working in the field of venom biology and antivenom therapeutics. His biomedical research focuses on characterising the venom composition and function of medically-important snake species, and using this information to rationally design new antibody and small molecule drug based therapeutics to treat the world’s 1.8 million snakebite victims.
