Julie did her graduate work with Anna Marie Pyle at Columbia University, focusing on the folding of large catalytic RNAs. She then carried out postdoctoral work in Susan Lindquist’s lab at Whitehead Institute, using yeast as a model for characterizing the disruption of cellular pathways caused by misfolding of alpha synuclein. She joined Bristol Myers Squibb in 2009 and works in Discovery, utilizing in vitro selection methods to identify biologic leads for therapeutic targets.
