Kristian Andersen, PhD
Professor, Department of Immunology and Microbiology at Scripps Research


Kristian Andersen is a Professor at Scripps Research and Vice President of the Viral Hemorrhagic Fever Consortium. Over the past decade, he has spearheaded large international collaborations investigating the emergence, spread and evolution of viral pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2, Zika virus, Ebola virus, West Nile virus, and Lassa virus. Kristian earned his doctoral degree in immunology from the University of Cambridge and performed postdoctoral work in virus genomics at Harvard University and the Broad Institute.
