James Luetchford is the Assistant Manager of the DP Certification team at The Nautical Institute and also oversees its nascent Ice Navigation Scheme. James has been with The NI for almost two years, before which he worked in marine environmental policy and ministerial relations for the UK Government. His primary interests are the safe handling of ships with a view to minimising risk in environmentally sensitive areas, fuel efficiency, and autonomous vessels.
