Profile

Geoff is a Managing Director and head of Duff & Phelps’ Offshore Restructuring practice. Geoff is also the Managing Member of KP Asset Management LLC (an investment advisor entity owned and operated by D&P).

Prior to the acquisition of Kinetic Partners by Duff & Phelps in January 2015, Geoff was the global head of Kinetic’s Corporate Recovery and Restructuring practice, having built it from inception in 2005.  Prior to Kinetic, Geoff was a Vice President within the Business Recovery Services group of PwC, based in Calgary.

Geoff has over 25 years of professional services experience, with a focus on financial restructurings, insolvency (liquidations, receiverships, bankruptcies), due diligence, and forensic investigations. He has advised investors, creditors and lenders on both formal and informal insolvency and financial restructuring matters across a variety of industries. He has also completed viability assessments and confidential monitorings of companies in financial distress and has advised both companies and lenders with respect to restructuring and/or recovery alternatives.

Geoff has acted in many fiduciary/judicial capacities including as a Voluntary, Provisional and Official Liquidator, Monitor, Receiver, Trustee and Agent (under a power of attorney). Industries covered have included asset management (hedge funds, PE funds, SPVs), energy & mining, aviation, transportation, technology, hospitality and real estate. In a number of instances, business operations have been actively monitored and/or managed for an extended period in order to effect a sale as a going concern or maintain a controlled wind-down.

He has broad international engagement experience which he acquired while working and living in the US, the Cayman Islands, Canada and New Zealand.
