Kostas Ladas was appointed General Manager of the Liberian Registry (LISCR (UK) Limited) in London in 2015. The Liberian Registry – the second largest in the world – currently includes over 4,400 ships of more than 165 million gross tons, which represents 12% of the world’s ocean going fleet. As the world’s premier open ship registry, the Liberian maritime program is renowned for quality, efficiency, safety and service.
Kostas has over 31 years strong management and customer service experience gained in the shipping industry and academia. He joined the Liberian Registry from London-based ship management company and agent Victoria Steamship Co Ltd, where he has worked in vessel operations. Prior to that, he spent over 25 years with Coscon/Cosco (UK) Ltd in London, a subsidiary of one of the largest shipping companies in the world having held a variety of executive roles, including Chartering & Shipbroking Deputy General Manager, Commercial Manager and company Legal Adviser.
Kostas holds a degree in port and shipping administration from the University of Wales (UWIST) and a Master of Science (MSc) in International Shipping from Plymouth University. He also served two years in the Greek Navy and has been a member of the Baltic Exchange since 1995.
