Marju KortsSubject Matter Expert at NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence
Ms Marju Kõrts graduated with her Masters degree in political science at Tartu University in Estonia. She is an Estonian career diplomat who has hold several positions at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2008 including her posting to the Estonian Embassy in Washington D.C where she also monitored the developments and trends in the field of energy security. Her previous duties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were related to bilateral energy policy issues and specifically the regional Baltic states energy infrastructure projects.
With the current function as the Estonian Subject Matter Expert at the Research and Lessons Learned Division of the NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence in Vilnius, she has focused on the new energy technologies and has written a couple of articles at the publication "Energy Security: Operational Highlights" focusing on disruptive energy technologies and renewable energy. At present she is conducting a research study "The use of LNG as an alternative propellant in the naval field" that will be launched this spring by the NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence.
