Andrés France, Ph.D.Phytopathology Specialist at INIA
Andrés France is an Agronomist graduated from Universidad de Chile, with a Master and Doctorate in Plant Pathology from Cornell University, USA. Thirty five years of experience working as researcher at the National Institute of Agriculture Research (INIA) in Chile. The areas of interest are Berries Pathology, Microbial Control of Pest and Disease, Genetic Resources and Culture Collections of Microorganisms. He has published 68 refereed papers, 150 review publications, and 13 book chapters, advice 40 thesis and 268 presentations in national and international scientific congress. He has managed and co-participated in 90 national and international projects. At present, he is the Director of the Chilean Collection of Microbial Genetic Resource, the only International Deposit Authority of Microorganisms (IDA) in South America. Furthermore, he has made national and international consultancies in Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, USA, South Africa and China.
