Matthew Hammond, Ph.D.
Principal Scientist at Amgen

Matt is principal scientist at Amgen in the Materials Science group, where he leads the business process for raw material technical assessments via Material Target Attribute Profile, a QbD-inspired framework akin to QTPP. Matt holds a PhD in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara, and did his doctorate and postdoctorate work on polymers for semiconductor applications, determining of how molecular polymer attributes and processing parameters affected the performance of the resulting materials. Since joining Amgen in 2011, he has applied the same paradigm, looking to understand how the attributes of raw materials (and variability therein) may affect bioprocess performance and/or product quality, with an eye towards establishing robust raw material control strategies.

Agenda Sessions
