Sylvain Cecchini is Director of the AAV large scale manufacturing facility at Umass Medical School in Worcester, MA. Before joining Umass, he spent 10 years at the NIH in Dr Robert Kotin's lab to develop and optimize the large scale AAV production using the baculovirus system. Following that, he worked at a biotech company in Cambridge (Voyager Therapeutics) to transfer the technology and help the CMC group to adapt the process for GMP production at Mass Biologics (Fall River, MA). Now, he is in charge of developing the large scale AAV production at Umass medical school using the baculovirus system and HEK293 cells.
