Amir GoudarziHead Process Engineering Biologics Pilot Plant at UCB
Amir Goudarzi has more than 12 years of bioprocess industry experience. Amir started off with BioProcess and Engineer positions at Archer Daniels Midland and CB&I in the Netherlands, with work focusing on various Conceptual-, Basic-, and Front End Design. Amir then joined DSM Biologics (now Thermo Scientific) and worked in Upstream Process Development and later as Manager in Process Development, where he gained experience with biopharmaceutical products and various USP & DSP bioprocess technologies. Later on, Amir led microbial fermentation development team of Corbion, in the Netherlands, where he was leading various process developments activities & PATs across multiple sites. Amir joined UCB in 2018 and heads biologics pilot plant engineering team. This team (among the rest) is mainly involved in scaling-up and industrialization of UCB biopharmaceuticals. Amir holds a MSc Degree in Biotechnology and a Professional Doctorate in BioProcess Engineering (PDEng) from Delft University of Technology.
