Giovanni Povero joined Valagro in 2011, at first working as Plant Physiologist and then Plant Physiology Coordinator. He is currently a Plant Science Manager at the “Global Research” Department of Valagro, managing: i) "Plant Physiology & Genomics/Phenomics" and ii) Primary Screening (greenhouse and plot tests outdoor) teams and research activities. Besides, he connects Valagro Global Research Dept. with the JointLab teams i) "Valagro@PlantLab" (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy) and ii) "Valagro@PhenoLab" (Alsia-Metapontum Agrobios Research Center, Matera, Italy) and other strategic research collaborations.
Prior to joining Valagro, Giovanni Povero achieved his Master degree in Plant Biotechnology at the Faculty of Agriculture of the “University of Pisa” (Italy). Subsequently, he achieved a Double PhD title in i) "AgroBioSciences" (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy) and ii) "Graduate School of Life Science" (Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, NL).
