Marciel Stadnik has been professor of Plant Pathology and Agronomy at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) since 2002. His researches focus on plant disease resistance, ecological management of crops, and seaweed compounds for use as biostimulants and resistance inducers. He is particularly interested in understanding the molecular and physiological mechanisms triggered by the application of algal saccharides against both abiotic and biotic stresses in several crop plants. Marciel is a research member of the National Council and Technological Development (CNPq).
