Researcher to the Water Institute at University of Granada, Spain

Maximino graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Granada in 1994. At the end of his degree, he began his doctoral studies at the Agronomic Research Institute Estacion Experimental del Zaidin, that is part of the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), where he obtained his doctorate in 2000 on molecular bioremediation. He held a postdoctoral post at the University of Cambridge from the end of his doctorate until 2005 in various centers of the University, including the Institute of Biotechnology and the Departments of Genetics, Chemistry and CIMR (Cambridge Institute for Medical Research) where he was trained on desiccation tolerance. Already in the middle of the year 2006 he was granted with the Spanish brain-hunting program Ramon y Cajal with which Maximino was incorporated as researcher to the Water Institute of the University of Granada, and in July of 2011 to the Department of Microbiology. Since then on he has being involved in more than 20 Research Projects, and published over 40 Research Articles on high impact factor journals on Bioremediation, Desiccation Tolerance and Biofuels.
