Professor Fiona Murray CBE is the Associate Dean for Innovation at the MIT Sloan School of Management, Co-Director of MIT Innovation Initiative, and William Porter (1967) Professor of Entrepreneurship.
Her research focuses on innovation ecosystems, the commercialization of science, women in entrepreneurship and innovation policy. She has done extensive work with entrepreneurs, governments, large corporations and philanthropists designing and evaluating the policies and programs that shape vibrant innovation ecosystems: prizes competitions, accelerators, patent licensing rules and funding programs.
Murray received her MA in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and a PhD from Harvard University in Applied Sciences. She serves on the UK Prime Minister’s Council on Science and Technology. In Boston she serves on the Board of PRIME Coalition and on the Global Advisory Board of MassChallenge.
