Doug MacDonaldPrincipal Scientist at Seattle Genetics
Doug MacDonald has over 18 years of experience in bioprocess development. He graduated with an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2000. He has contributed to many different aspects of purification process development from FIH to commercial development, characterization, and process transfer. He is the purification lead and CMC team member of 2 different late stage programs.
He is the Seattle Genetics Process Sciences high-throughput and automation lead and he and his team have successfully implemented the use of micro-columns as qualified small-scale models for use in development and characterization studies. He also leads many efforts for utilizing prior knowledge for viral clearance.
Prior to working at Seattle Genetics, he held positions at Dendreon and Amgen/Immunex, where he contributed to many programs including Provenge and a second generation Enbrel process which included a refolding step post capture.
