Profile
Thomas Matthews received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Duke University in 2011. He completed one Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, where he focused on building new instrumentation for biomedical Raman imaging. He then accepted a position at Biogen, also as a Postdoc, where he designed and implemented Raman monitoring and control of bioreactors. In 2015 he moved into the Materials Science group at Biogen as a scientist. His current responsibilities include developing spectroscopic raw material Rapid ID methods and creating data analytic methods for raw material analytical and characterization data.
