Christian SievertHead of Strain Development at Eleva Biologics
Profile
I am a trained biologist interested in evolutionary processes and creating value by transforming knowledge into useful applications. I studied the molecular evolution of a plant secondary pathway until 2014 at the University of Kiel, Germany. For the next two years I have explored mechanisms of experimental evolution using industrial strains at the Arizona State University, USA. At the University of Münster, Germany, I studied evolution of parasitism. In 2017, I accepted a job offer from Eleva as scientist of strain development applying lessons learned from evolution to engineering strains. Eleva is a biopharmaceutical company using moss as expression host.
