Dr. Florian Schelter is working as Drug Substance Technical Development Lead and as Principal Scientist in the Purification Development Department within the Pharma Technical Development organization at Roche. In his current roles, he is responsible for the development of bioprocesses for therapeutic large molecules from entry into humans to commercialization and has a focus on expedited development of complex antibody formats. Amongst others, he supported the development of Gazyva, Hemlibra and Vabysmo. Prior to his current role, he worked as Manager Downstream Processing and Recovery within the commercial manufacturing unit at Roche. Dr. Schelter joined Roche in 2012 as part of the Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship (RPF) program within the Discovery Oncology Department. His research back then focused on the development of multispecific antibody formats. He obtained his doctoral degree from the Technical University of Munich in the field of molecular medicine where he studied molecular mechanisms of metastasis formation. He also holds an engineering degree in technology and biotechnology, with a focus on food, from the Technical University of Munich.
