Julian KoppPhD Student at TU Wien
Julian Kopp absolved his bachelor and master at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, in the field of Biotechnology and is currently employed at the technical university of Vienna, in the research group of Prof. Christoph Herwig as a PhD Student. Together with the working group and in close cooperation with Frank Delvigne, an in depth understanding for recombinant protein production with the host E. coli has been established. We especially investigated continuous cultivations and the reasons for instability of recombinant protein expression over time. Hence, research was focused to (i) create basic knowledge upon regulation of continuous processes with the host E. coli and (ii) to establish an industrial relevant process design for robust continuous upstream for the production of recombinant proteins.
