Profile

Pawanthi Buwaneka is a Research Scientist at Avantor, Innovation and Technology center. She is working on optimizing downstream purification processers, involve in development of new chromatography resins and developing new methodologies in bioprocessing applications. Pawanthi practiced biochemistry and molecular biology during her PhD at University of Illinois at Chicago. She has discovered a novel role of lipids in TGFβ signaling pathway and has developed a new cholesterol sensor for quantitative analysis of cholesterol concentration in inner plasma membrane of living cells during her PhD.
