Sarah Touw-Mercier is a Senior Scientist in the upstream process development group of Janssen Vaccines & Prevention, where she works on late stage process development, process validation and regulatory submissions of Adenovirus-based vaccines. She joined Janssen (former Crucell) in 2009 and enrolled in a PhD program in 2010 in collaboration with the University of Wageningen (the Netherlands), where she applied the principles of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Quality by Design (QbD) on a PER.C6® perfusion cell cultivation process. Prior to joining Janssen, Sarah worked at Genentech in South San Francisco (USA) in the Late Stage Cell Culture group.
