Senior Scientist I, Cell and Gene Therapy Group at Fujifilm Irvine Scientific

Dr. Shan Gao’s main role at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific is to develop cell culture media that improve viral vector production in gene therapy and vaccine applications. She has been a major contributor in developing protocols to improve customers’ processes, developing and evaluating new cell culture medium formulations for Cell and Gene Therapies. Shan has a PhD. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, New York, NY, and postdoctoral training at the Center for Engineering in Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s of Science from the East China University of Science and Technologies, Shanghai, China.
