Frequently Asked Questions

Q1a: When is the Virtual Platform Opening?

All registered attendees, exhibitors and speakers will be emailed your virtual conference platform log in details on Friday, 10 July.  Once you receive this email, you may log into the platform to view the full attendee list and start sending meeting requests.  The presentations across all 7 tracks will begin streaming on the morning of 13 July as noted in our agenda.  There will be live speaker Q&A sessions throughout the week of the event, which are noted in the agenda.  After the day concludes, that day's presentations will be saved in our on-demand folder and available to view for 30 days post-event.

Q1b: I'm already registered attendee, what happens with my registration?

Your existing in-person conference registration ticket will automatically be carried over to our 100% virtual event and you do not need to re-register.  Additionally, all existing main conference pass purchasers are entitled to invite two (2) additional colleagues to attend the virtual conference & exhibition at no additional charge (see Q7 below for details).  Should you have any queries about your registration, please contact our Delegate Relations Director Jessica Purnell at jessica.purnell@informa.com

Q2: I am a sponsor/exhibitor, what happens next?

Our number one priority is to deliver you an outstanding virtual experience, resulting in more opportunities for networking, brand visibility and lead generation than ever before.  Please see our exhibitor manual for instructions on how to prepare your virtual booth.  Should you have questions, please contact Luke Pickering at luke.pickering@informa.com

Q3: I am a speaker on the agenda, what happens next?

Please see our speaker resource page for guidelines on how to prepare for your virtual presentation.  Should you have any immediate questions, please contact our Speaker Coordinator Catherine Chang at catherine.chang@informa.com

Q4: How will the presentations be delivered in a virtual format?

All speaker presentations will be accessible from your computer or mobile device with a mix of live and pre-recorded sessions.  Speakers will have scheduled live Q&A built into the agenda which will accommodate a Central European Summer Time format (CEST).

Attendees will be able to see the video of the speaker, along with their slide deck as they are presenting.  Attendees will also be able to see who else is in the virtual room alongside them, and can send private or group-wide messages during or after the presentation.  Presentations will be available to view on-demand, allowing you to view presentations across all tracks at your own pace.

All speaker presentations will be available for on-demand viewing for 30 days post-event.

Q5: What are my options to participate as a virtual BPI Europe 2020 attendee?

[£1999] All Access Virtual Pass - This pass provides three (3) full access passes to:

  • All 115+ virtual presentations as part of our main-conference
  • Both of our single-day virtual workshops
  • Our virtual exhibition featuring 80+ bioprocessing technology displays
  • Our virtual poster hall featuring 30+ peer-submitted scientific posters
  • Our networking platform that allows you to connect with fellow attendees, speakers and exhibitors before, during and post-event

  • Our virtual exhibition featuring 80+ bioprocessing technology displays

Q6: How will the virtual exhibition & poster hall look?

Our digital exhibition and poster hall will be accessible alongside the scientific agenda presentations. Each virtual exhibit booth highlights service offerings, short informational videos and virtual meeting rooms where you can video chat directly with representatives.  Posters will be displayed as PDFs in our interactive poster library where you can ask questions directly to the poster presenters.

Plus, you can register for our virtual exhibition visitor pass absolutely free!

Q7: Will I still be able to communicate with attendees, speakers and exhibitors?

Yes, our virtual platform will have a full attendee list published (name, title, company, photo) that can be filtered by topic interest (ex: downstream, upstream, manufacturing) to create simple-yet-effective virtual networking opportunities.  Attendees will be able to send private messages/video chat requests to each other within our virtual networking platform.  Please note that the free virtual exhibition pass holders will only be able to receive messages (you must upgrade to the all access virtual pass to view the full attendee list and send messages).

Q8: How do I redeem the two additional free passes for colleagues?

For registered attendees of the Face-to-Face Event: On the 3rd of June you were emailed a discount code valid for 2 free additional passes for new, unregistered colleagues (search for 'BioProcess International Europe' including your spam folder).  Your colleagues can register on the event website and enter the discount code which will zero out the balance due during check out.  The two free additional passes may not be used on previously-registered attendees who have cancelled.

For new registered attendees of the all access virtual pass:  After registering, you will be emailed a discount valid for 2 free additional passes for new, unregistered colleagues (please allow a few days).  Your colleagues can register through the same process as noted above.

If you purchased a conference pass and need your VIP Code to claim the 2 guest passes, please contact Event Marketing Manager Howie Choi at howard.choi@informa.com

Q9: Do I need to pay VAT now that the event is virtual?

Paying VAT depends on where you are based.  Attendees based in UK or Europe are subject to a 20% VAT, and attendees based outside of Europe and attendees based in Europe with a registered VAT number do not need to pay VAT. (SEE BOOKING OPTIONS)

Q10: I already booked flights / hotel accommodations, can these be refunded?

Please follow up with the airline / hotel directly to inquire about cancellation policies.

Q11: What is happening with the other BPI events, such as the BPI US West event in August and the BPI Conference & Exhibition in September?

In light of ongoing developments with the pandemic, our BioProcess International US West meeting will now be combined with our BioProcess International Conference & Exhibition and delivered as a single event in a 100% virtual format on September 21-25, 2020.  Visit www.BPIevent.com for the latest updates.
