Kevin Reynolds is a marine engineering principal at Glosten, a Seattle-based naval architecture firm. For the past 15 years, he has led Glosten’s marine environmental engineering and ballast water management efforts. This work includes shipboard integration of treatment systems ranging from small freshwater vessels to ocean going oil tankers. He led the design and construction of two ballast water treatment system test facilities, and has helped numerous equipment manufactures successfully prototype, trial, and marinize their technologies. A graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, he holds an Unlimited Chief Engineer merchant mariner license, served aboard fourteen different ocean-going vessels, and worked as a shipyard new construction project engineer. He is an IMarEST Fellow, Ballast Water Expert Group member, and provides advisory support to Washington State, California, US Environmental Protection Agency, and US Coast Guard.
