Stefanos Roulakis focuses his practice on assisting vessel owners and operators navigate U.S. law and regulations to ensure commercial success and operational efficiency. Stefanos has an active ballast water practice, working with both vessel owners and BWMS manufacturers to counsel on issues related to compliance date extensions, contingency planning, and enforcement.
Stefanos takes a proactive approach to maritime compliance through audits and trainings, in particular with MARPOL and U.S. sanctions. He has assisted clients in internal investigations and investigations conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Outside his maritime practice, Stefanos volunteers his time on human rights matters, which began with his work as a Fulbright Scholar in Turkey, where he became fluent in Greek and Turkish.
