Alison SchneiderFormer Vice President, Responsible Investment at AIMCo
Alison Schneider is an award-winning sustainable finance practitioner and developed and led a world-class Responsible Investment (RI) program at AIMCo for over a decade. She led the RI team and organizational efforts to embed RI governance, integrate ESG across asset classes and address focus areas such as diversity, equity and inclusion and assessment of climate risks and opportunities. Alison advised on a Green Financing Framework to support AIMCo’s first $500M green bond issuance. Under her leadership, AIMCo was awarded the Responsible Asset Allocator Initiative award five years running, achieving #1 in 2021, and received top scores in the annual UNPRI and GRESB real estate and infrastructure surveys. Alison is a co-founder of GRESB infrastructure (2015), a global sustainability benchmarking tool, and recently served on the GRESB Foundation Board representing real estate and infrastructure. She is also a Co-Founder of Climate Engagement Canada (2022), Net Impact Edmonton (2011) a local sustainability club, and of a local International Women’s Day event and C-suite roundtable (2019). Alison is a Clean50 award winner and contributes to national and global sustainable finance frameworks. She is an author/co-author of: The New Frontiers of Sovereign Investment (2017); ICGN’s Guidance on Diversity (2016), ICGN’s Guidance on Fiduciary Duty (2018) and several G7 Investor Leadership Network (ILN) publications (2018-21). Alison is an instructor for the Canada Climate Law Initiative and for the ILN’S Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship Program.
