Niall Finnegan was educated in Dublin, Ireland and qualified from Trinity College in 1981 after which he emigrated to Canada. He has practiced as a Construction Cost Consultant for the past 42 years. In 1986, he became a partner at Helyar which grew to be the largest construction cost consulting company in Canada before taking the company public in 2005 where he remained as president until 2011. Thereafter, Niall co-founded Finnegan Marshall Inc., whose focus is on providing proactive construction cost and development advisory services to the private sector real estate development industry. Finnegan Marshall has 250 plus projects under construction at any one time and are also working on a large number of projects in the pre-construction stage. Finnegan Marshall typically work on projects with their real estate developer clients from land acquisition through planning approvals, pre-sales or leasing, and design development with the object of producing the most cost-efficient design for maximum return. They are very actively engaged in tendering and negotiating construction contracts for their clients. They also act for lenders on their construction loan portfolio approving ongoing monthly advances until completion.
