Piebe Teeboom

Director General at FIA EPTA - European Principal Traders Association

As Secretary General for the FIA European Principal Traders Association (FIA EPTA), Piebe Teeboom leads Europe’s primary industry body for independent market making firms.

Collectively, FIA EPTA’s 28 members (based in the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK) provide up to 45% of liquidity on European exchanges, enabling end-investors to efficiently reach their investment and risk management goals. FIA EPTA is affiliated with the Futures Industry Association, the leading global trade organization for the futures, options and centrally cleared derivatives markets.

Working closely with FIA EPTA’s members and other market participants, Piebe represents FIA EPTA’s members towards public stakeholders in Brussels and across Europe. As an expert on market structure and the prudential regulation of investment firms, Piebe regularly comments on industry issues in leading financial media and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.

Prior to joining FIA EPTA in 2016, Piebe was a senior strategic policy advisor at the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). Piebe holds Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Amsterdam.
