Jennifer Briggs Braswell, Ph.D, is the Chief Administrative Officer for ARMI (the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute and its BioFab|USA program) where she leads and supports the organization’s strategic functions through the integration of regulatory, technology, education & workforce development, and membership services to ensure that ARMI|BioFabUSA meets its goals to make practical the scalable manufacturing of engineered tissues and tissue related technologies to benefit existing industries and grow new ones.

Braswell is a noted catalyst to successful collaboration and has created high performing infrastructures to facilitate innovative research and education in the rapidly changing fields of regenerative medicine, stem cells and gene therapy.  She brings this experience to ARMI|BioFabUSA to develop the industry ecosystem for Tissue Engineered Medical Products (TEMPs).

Prior to joining ARMI|BioFabUSA, Dr. Braswell served in a progression of leadership roles at University of California, San Diego (USCD) beginning in 2003, most recently as the Executive Director for the Sanford Stem Cell Clinical Center.  Braswell was responsible for an enterprise-wide research and medical program whose goals included bringing stem cells from their basic science roots into clinical Phase I & II clinical trials.

She also held professional roles as program manager for the USCD Stem Cell Program, Managing Director for the Human Embryonic Stem Cell Core Facility at USCD, and an as an operational adviser to the USCD Stem Cell Genomics Core and the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine.

Adept at managing award-winning grant writing, her efforts brought in over $160 million to USCD’s highly innovative research programs.

Braswell served as the Executive Director of the Scientific Symposium at the Meeting on the Mesa for 9 years.  Her public outreach presentations evidence her interest in bringing together varying constituencies to communicate the benefits of translational research in stem cells, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineered medical products.

Jennifer Braswell received her doctorate from Tulane University and has 15 years of continuing education in Regenerative Medicine and related fields.
