Wouter Van’t Hof, holds a PhD in Cell biology PhD and has gained over 15 years of industrial experience in translational development of adult stem cell therapies, incl. bone marrow stromal cells (MSC) and HPC, Cord Blood. Dr. Van’t Hof currently is the Director of the Cord Blood Bank at the Cleveland Cord Blood Center (CCBC). As such he obtained BLA approval for HPC, Cord Blood (Clevecord) in September 2016. From 2002-2013, as Director at Athersys (Cleveland, OH), he managed various development projects including technology transfer, product and process development, preclinical safety, regulatory discussion, clinical study design. He was the scientific lead on a published Phase 1 safety study in HSCT support (Athersys, MultiStem Product). Dr Van’t Hof was an Assistant Professor of Cell Biology in Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University from 1999-2002. He was a research associate (Postdoc), in the Cell Biology Program, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York between 1995-1999 and a Postdoctoral Fellow, at Cornell University Medical College 1993-1994. He received his PhD from the Cell Biology Department, Utrecht University Medical School, the Netherlands in 1992.
