Shashi Murthy is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, USA. His expertise spans automated cell culture systems for immune cells to cell separation and activation reagents. His honors include National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award, the Søren Buus Award for Outstanding Research in Engineering at Northeastern University, and election as a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). He has co-authored over 75 peer reviewed journal articles and is an inventor on 13 issued or pending patents. Dr. Murthy received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University, his Ph.D. at M.I.T, and performed postdoctoral research at the Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a founder of two companies that commercialized technology created in his academic lab, Quad Technologies (acquired by Bio-Techne) and Flaskworks.
