Dennis A. Wong, MDHead, Asia Pacific Development at Sanofi
Dr. Wong since 2015 is the Head of Asia Pacific Development for Sanofi responsible for the development of all of Sanofi innovative pipeline drugs China, Japan and other countries in the region.
Dr. Wong studied medicine and then specialized in internal medicine at the University of Manitoba in Canada. He went on to a subspecialty fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at McMaster University before doing cell biology research at Harvard Medical School. Academic appointments then followed at Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Tokyo and the University of Chicago.
In 2003, Dr. Wong was recruited to Genentech where he worked on a series of monoclonal antibodies in immunology including Xolair, an anti-IgE for asthma. Then in 2012 he joined Bristol Myer Squibb to lead the Orencia team, a fusion protein used in rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr. Wong has published more than 30 peer reviewed articles and chapters on cellular immunology, molecular biology and immunological diseases.
