Hans De Steur PhD
Post-doctoral Lecturer and Researcher at UGent


Hans De Steur graduated as a Sociologist and obtained his Diploma of Complementary Studies in Economics and Business Administration at Ghent University, Belgium. In 2011, he successfully finished his PhD in Applied Biological Sciences, which focused on the market potential of folate biofortification in China. He currently works as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics in Ghent University. His research deals with agri-food marketing and socio-economic analysis with a particular emphasis on quantitative research methods. He is (co-)author of various scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, among which Nature Biotechnology, and presented his results at several international conferences. He currently holds an editorial position in Food Quality and Preference, PlosOne and International Food and Agribusiness Management Review.
