Ioan Zagraisenior scientist and head of Research Department of Fruit Research&Developmen at Station Bistrita
Graduated in Agronomy by the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca (1994). He obtained his PhD degree (2003) in plant breeding investigating “Plum resistance to Plum pox virus and its breeding by conventional methods”. Since 2004 he is senior scientist and head of Research Department of Fruit Research&Development Station Bistrita, Romania. His fields of expertise are plant virology, stone fruit breeding, plant certification, and GMO field trials. Along the last two decades he conducted different research projects in the mentioned fields. Since 2012 he is member of Romanian Biosafety Commission. Since 2017 he become associated member of Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences.
