Mark MilesPollinator Safety Specialist at Bayer AG
Mark started his career at the University of Reading (UK) working on patterns and mechanisms of resistance in cotton bollworms. He joined DowElanco in 1991 as a Research Entomologist and held various roles such as Insectary Manager and team leader for insecticide development where he worked on developing novel microencapsulated products, further investigations into pre- and post-launch resistance monitoring and Integrated Pest Management. He joined the environmental risk assessment group in 2000 and specialised in higher tier testing and risk assessment for all areas of terrestrial invertebrate ecotoxicology (non-target arthropods, bees and soil organisms). Mark left Dow AgroSciences in 2013 to take up a role as a Senior Pollinator Safety Specialist at Bayer AG and is the current chair of the ECPA (European Crop Protection Association) bee and pollinators experts group.
