Olivia BarnesSenior Research Nurse at Sherbourne Medical Centre, UK
Profile
Olivia Barnes qualifies as a Nurse in 1977 and has been a research nurse since 1998 working in both primary and secondary care. She has a passion for research in Primary Care and encourages local GP sites to become involved in research. Whilst working for NIHR she became a GCP trainer and enjoys training and supporting new research staff.
Olivia enjoys the more complex phase II and III work but complements this with academic studies with worthwhile and interesting objectives.
Working with patients to implement the protocol so that the data is clean, clear and protocol deviation free can be full of challenges in the real world where things do not always run to plan. Olivia is her patient’s advocate throughout their research journey, making them feel supported and valued at all times.
