Yolanda BarbachanoLeading Senior Statistical Assessor at Medicines and HealthCare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK
Yolanda is a lead statistical assessor at the MHRA where she has been working for the last 10 years. In her role she advises pharmaceutical companies on the design of their clinical trials, including innovative designs. She works across all clinical areas, both with medicines and devices. She has recently been involved in the MHRA’s Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) pilot, looking at innovative ways of accelerating time to market. Yolanda is currently involved in writing guidance on the use of real world data in regulatory submissions and used to be a member of the HMA-EMA joint big data taskforce. She has a special interest in rare diseases and patient involvement.
Before joining MHRA Yolanda worked for the Royal Marsden planning and analysing clinical trials in oncology. She has a BSc in mathematics and a PhD in statistics both from the University of Sussex.
