Health & Safety at CMA Shipping 2021

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend CMA Shipping 2021?

It’s currently not a mandatory requirement from the State of Connecticut to show proof of vaccination / immunity to attend events. We will continue to monitor the guidance set by the Governor of CT and update all attendees immediately if this mandate changes.

Do I need proof of a negative PCR or Antigen test to attend CMA Shipping 2021?

Currently, testing is not a requirement to attend the event. However, if you are travelling to the event from outside the State, please refer to the CDC travel guidance specific to your travel plans:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/travel-during-covid19.html

Is traveling to Connecticut safe?

Currently, CT is the second most vaccinated state in the US (67.11% of population fully vaccinated as of 09/14/2021 – Source: CDC) second only to Vermont. CT has the fourth lowest case count in the US per 100,000 at only 21/100K at time of writing (source: NY Times).

We highly recommend that all internal US travellers adhere to CDC travel advice which can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/travel-during-covid19.html

All international travellers planning to come to CMA Shipping 2021 will need to abide by the current US COVID-19 travel restrictions. To help plan your travel and check requirements, you can use several tools available online and we have found the following to be a very useful starting point: Sherpa Travel Guidance

Will I need to wear a mask at the event?

Yes. Currently the Mayor of Stamford has mandated face masks to be worn in all indoor settings and we will be following the local guidance for the duration of the event. You can read the full advice here: https://www.stamfordct.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/8502/637649018059830000

Will there be enhanced cleaning and sanitising at the event?

Yes. Additional hand sanitising stations will be available, and a regular cleaning regime will be maintained throughout the event. Deep cleans will be performed prior to and each night of the communal areas being in use. Attendees will have access to alcohol-based hand sanitiser throughout key areas of the event and high touch points and hard surfaces will be cleaned regularly. Hotel staff have been trained and will be wearing appropriate PPE throughout the event.

For more information on the hotel’s cleaning policies and practices, please visit: https://www.hilton.com/en/corporate/cleanstay/

Will there be contactless registration?

Yes. All attendees at CMA Shipping 2021 will need to register online in advance (this can be done from your mobile device / tablet / laptop onsite if you forget or aren’t able to in advance). Registered attendees will then be able to present a barcode from their mobile device instead of signing in or touching a screen themselves. Registration staff wearing masks will then hand badges and lanyards out individually to attendees minimising the contact points between multiple people.

Will the event be socially distanced?

Yes. We have worked closely with the venue to improve the human traffic flow around the exhibits relieving potential bottle neck areas. And we have increased the space between many of the exhibit areas to allow greater movement and distance. Ultimately, social distance remains a personal choice so we would encourage all attendees at CMA Shipping 2021 to respect the choices of others and act with caution if in doubt.

If an attendee presents COVID-19 symptoms during event participation, how will this be handled?

If you observe or present any COVID-19 symptoms, within 10 days prior to travel, you must follow local and national public health guidance and evaluate your continued attendance. If minor symptoms present at any time e.g. cough, headache, mild fever, you must quarantine and avoid any further physical participation until you recover and follow any prescribed self-isolate period in accordance to any local and public health authority guidance, when applicable.

If an attendee presents with COVID-19 symptoms during the event, they must inform the organiser immediately and follow isolation guidance in accordance with local and public health authority guidance. A full list of local hospitals, care specialists and test centres will be readily available onsite.
