Admiralty Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York

The Association of the Bar of the City of New York ("City Bar") was established in 1870 to work on political, legal and social reform, and maintain high ethical standards for the legal profession. Much of this work is accomplished through the City Bar's more than 160 committees, each charged to consider a specific area of law or the profession.

As a Standing Committee of the City Bar, the Admiralty Committee addresses environmental, political, legislative and commercial issues in regard to admiralty and maritime law. The Committee holds monthly meetings and is comprised of nearly 40 members from law firms, shipping companies, P&I Clubs, flag administrators, etc. Brooke Shapiro is the current Chair.

The City Bar is located at 42 West 44th Street in Manhattan.
