Gladmore MamhareProgram Officer – Competition Policy, Directorate of Industrial Development and Trade (IDT) at Southern African Development Community (SADC)
Gladmore Mamhare is an economist by training. He holds a Masters in Economics. Over the years he has attended many training seminars and workshops on competition policy.
He joined SADC Secretariat in 2007 and is the Programme Officer in charge of competition policy. His key role is to oversee the development and implementation of SADC’s regional competition policy programme.
He was instrumental in the development and implementation of the SADC Declaration on Regional Cooperation in Competition Policy. Specifically, (i) established the current system for effective cooperation in the application of SADC member States’ respective competition laws, and (ii) facilitated capacity building and technical assistance in support of the development and implementation of competition policy in member States.
Prior to joining SADC Secretariat, he was an Assistant Director and Head of the Competition Division at the Competition Authority of Zimbabwe.
