Khemla Prishnee Armoogum is an Investigation Officer (Economics) from the Unilateral Conduct Group at the Competition Commission in Mauritius.
Prishnee has over 10 years of combined experience in both the enforcement and research of competition law and policy. She has conducted numerous empirical studies assessing the performance of competition authorities and studied the degree of convergence of the competition laws towards a regional competition law, the COMESA Regulation, in the Southern African region. Earlier, she was seconded to the Competition Commission of South Africa and worked as intern at the Office of the Fair Trading in UK. She is presently doing a project entitled “Concentration, Diversification in a Small Island Economy: Mauritius”.
Prior to joining the Competition Commission, Prishnee was a team leader in the private sector and a part-time lecturer at the University of Technology, Mauritius. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia, UK, an MSc Economics and Financial Management from the Middlesex University, UK and a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Finance from the University of Mauritius.
